Day 01

Make your own way to Auckland International Airport and take Flight 3U3812 (1000-1900) to Chengdu. Once you arrive, meet local guide and go to hotel.

After breakfast, board the tour bus and travel via Chengle Expressway to Leshan (136km, 2 hours). Visit the Leshan Giant Buddha, situated at the confluence of the Min River, Qingyi River, and Dadu River. Carved into the cliff during the Tang Dynasty, it took over 90 years to complete. Standing at 71 meters tall, it's the world's largest cliff-carved Buddha and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Next, proceed to Suji Ancient Town, nestled between Leshan and Mount Emei. Known for its scenic beauty and local culture, Suji boasts traditional architecture and a variety of delicious cuisine, including the famous Qiaojiao beef.

After exploring, head to Mount Emei for hotel check-in and rest.

Mount Emei, one of China's Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains, stands for centuries, surpassing the Five Great Mountains in beauty, earning the title "Emei, the Best Under Heaven."

After breakfast, visit Baoguo Temple, one of Emei Mountain's key temples, initially named Huizong Hall to symbolize the convergence of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism. Renamed Baoguo Temple by Emperor Kangxi in 1703, it signifies repaying the nation's kindness.

Next, explore Fuhu Temple, adjacent to Baoguo Temple, known for taming tigers in the area, thus renamed "Fuhu Temple." Emperor Kangxi inscribed "Ligou Garden" during his visit. This temple exemplifies traditional Han Buddhist architecture.

After lunch, return to Chengdu for hotel check-in and leisure time.

Day 04

After breakfast, drive to Dujiangyan to visit the Panda Paradise. Covering 760 acres, it's the world's only professional institution for giant panda rescue, disease prevention, and control research. Divided into seven functional zones, including disease control, rescue quarantine, rehabilitation, public education, office, and natural landscape areas, it accommodates over 40 pandas' needs. Approximately 500 acres are open to visitors, including the rehabilitation and training zone, public education zone, and natural landscape area.

In the afternoon, explore the Dujiangyan Irrigation System (including electric cart). Dating back over 2200 years, it's the only surviving no-dam irrigation system of its kind, nurturing the Chengdu Plain and earning its place as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000.

After the tour, return to Chengdu hotel for leisure time.

Day 05

After breakfast, visit the Thatched Cottage of Du Fu, the former residence of China's greatest poet during the Tang Dynasty. Du Fu resided here for nearly four years and composed over 240 poems. Praised by BBC as "There is Dante, there's Shakespeare, and there's Du Fu," this site holds immense cultural significance.

Next, drive to Pengzhen, a Ming and Qing Dynasty ancient town with a 300-year history. Preserving the most intact cluster of traditional houses in western Sichuan, its streets feature buildings with grey tiles, white walls, and wooden structures. Over a dozen old teahouses dot the streets, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the relaxed lifestyle. We'll take the opportunity to sip tea, take photos, and enjoy sunflower seeds in the most comfortable way, embracing the authentic old Chengdu life.

Return to Chengdu afterward for hotel check-in and leisure time.

Day 06

After breakfast, you have free time until noon. Check-out is at 12:00, and you can store your luggage at the hotel.

Enjoy more free time until 8:30 PM when we gather for departure. Hotel transfer to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport for your international flight back to Auckland, concluding your delightful journey in China!
